Cameron Brown Charged with Murder of Daughter Lauren Sarene Key

Cameron Brown is charged with murdering Lauren Sarene Key, his four year old daughter by throwing her from a 120-foot cliff in Rancho Palos Verdes, Southern California. Cameron Brown is alleged to have killed his little girl to avoid paying child support to Lauren Sarene Key's British mother, Sarah Key-Marer.

The defense is arguing that Lauren Key's death was an accident as the prosecution pursues cases of murder for financial gain, depicting Cameron Brown as an unloving father who only began to see his daughter after he was forced to start paying child support.

Deputy District Attorney Craig Hum said during his opening statement that Brown killed Lauren because he didn't want to pay about $1,000 a month in child support.

Defense attorney Pat Harris countered that it was an accident when the girl fell from Inspiration Point in Rancho Palos Verdes.
