Can Democrats hold onto the Presidency with Obama?

Answer: Probably Not

It is time to think this over, if you are a Democrat. What is needed in a President now is one who can reengineer the commercial economy, managing scarce capital to invest in the private sector. Needed is a President who is respected by the private sector and respected for integrity by private citizens. Needed is a leader who is respectful and tolerant of America’s diversity, and respectful of diversity in the Global community.

Can President Obama fill this role from what you have seen so far? Can Obama adapt from a social-oriented public bureaucrat to an advocate for private sector entrepreneurs? Can he lead a bipartisan Congress to produce a legislative framework conducive to private sector growth and job creation?

I am pondering the question with some doubt based on what I have seen so far. Who would be a better candidate, Democrat or Republican?

Bill Gates

Russell Honore

Carla Fiorina

Meg Whitman

Old choices include those from the list below. Jeb Bush looks like the best on the Republican list. Hillary Clinton is best on the Democrat list. Only Jeb has business experience. I reject the lot.

Of those above, I like Bill Gates for President with Russell Honore for Vice President followed by Meg Whitman for President and Condi Rice as Vice President. How about that?

“Future Presidential Candidates ?

Future Republican Presidential Candidates?

Mitt Romney
Sara Palin
Jeb Bush
Mike Huckabee
Tim Pawlenty
Condie Rice
Bobby Jindal
Mark Sanford
Joe Lieberman (if he changes parties)

Future Democratic Presidential Candidates?

Hillary Clinton
Evan Bayh
Tim Kain
Kathleen Sebelius
Mark Warren
Ted Strickland
Claire McCaskill
Janet Napolitano”

I actually like Ron Paul, but 1) he is too old, 2) he lacks successful business and CEO experience.

I seriously doubt that any of the people on these lists can do a better job than President Obama. A few of them have tried previously to win the presidency and failed. The American people must decide who is best to fill the president's shoes but there is no one that really stands out as someone the Americans voters have confidence in. And the last thing we need is another Bush in the White House.

I don't think President Obama can fill the role for a second period, unless the economy makes a 180-degree turn for good by early 2012. Too much hope was placed on him and the economic situation has left him unable to satisfy anyone. Business thinks he has aligned with social/populist groups and the private citizen thinks he has aligned with big business.

On the Republican side I see Jeb Bush as a potential candidate and perhaps Condie Rice. On the Democratic side I see Hillary and probably a General (that I forget his name). But Obama probably will clinch the candidacy for the Democrats. I think Colin Powell would be the best candidate. I also feel uneasy about the business people you mention in your list.

I think Obama will lose if he runs for a second term (unless he is running against GW Bush or Sarah Palin).

Robert Gates should be added to the list, the Defense Secretary. He is already managing everything else except the oil spill. He's about to be handed that too.

The second World War divided the world into two power blocks, demolition of the Berlin Wall eliminated, buldozed to be more accurate and precise, one block.Sheep were left to be taken care of by a wolf.

@Yankeejim.My question to you is:what difference will it make to a sheep, which includes the average American, whether the wolf is Republican or Democrat?

M.N.Roy,a agreat Indian intellectual,communist-turned-radical humanist narrated an interesting event in his memoirs.A freedom fighter,an arch reactionary,Lajpat Rai and M.N.Roy were in US.In a meeting of a Socialist Forum some one from the audience asked Lajpat Rai:what difference would it make to the Indian masses if foreign exploiters are replaced by native exploiters?Yes it does, there is a difference between kicking by a robber and kicking by the brother, was Lajpat rai's answer.I infer that Lajpat Rai meant that there was only kicking for masses, either by the robber or by the brother.Could any tell me the difference between two types of kicking.Does one hurt, the other not?

The metaphor must shift from wolf to dog. Then, ask the question whether the "dog" is a Republican of Democrat?

The Democrat dog is a hearder, and the Republican is partial to rack of lamb.

The tragedy with the cattles is that they have no choice but to trust a dog  which barks, bites(when in power) and wags tail (at the time of election) and keeps on crying-wolf,wolf till next four years,be it of Rpublican breed or Democratic breed or mixed breed.

You have whipped the poor metaphor into a frenzy. Now, go lie down.
