With both Canada and the US headed to the polls Electionmania has taken hold in North America.  Since there is so much crossover media attention in Canada it can be hard for a first time voter to follow all the action.

Elections Canada has prepared a great resource for young voters that is useful to first time voters of all ages.  With FAQs, election registration links, and statistics from previous elections, all in one easy to read web document.

Playing an active role in our communities is a right we all share. Getting involved means more than just voting every few years. It's finding other ways to ensure your voice is heard, other ways to speak out and express your beliefs. Not only that, but you'll pick up some great experience and learn new skills that will come in handy for school, work and life.

Canada and the United States have very different political systems; Canada is party oriented, where the US is more candidate driven.  If you are at all confused about how the system works in Canada, the Elections Canada site can help answer your questions.
