Canada - Latest EKOS poll shows that Conservatives lead Liberals
Just over a week ago Michael Ignatieff made four demands in order for him to support the minority Conservative government. This ended up in a meeting between Prime Minister Harper and Michael Ignatieff..
When the two leaders emerged for the meeting, it appeared that Michael Ignatieff had softened his demands and only got the concession of discussing Employment Insurance Reform over the summer by appointing a bi-partisan committee.
The results of Michael Igantieff empty demands are now reflected in the latest EKOS polls.
The Conservatives now enjoy a 34.8% popularity, while the Liberals have slipped to 32.6% for the first time in months.
Stephen Harper's popularity has increased 34% while Michael Igantieff's has slipped to 32%.
The two parties are now neck to neck in the battleground province of Ontario.
The NDP came in at 14.6%, the Green Party at 9.3% and the BLOC at 9%.
The federal Conservatives have pulled ahead of the Liberals in voter support for the first time in months, according to a new EKOS poll released exclusively to CBC News after a week of political brinkmanship that saw Michael Ignatieff threaten to trigger a summer election.

I'm not Ignatieff gave an ultimatum to Harper and basically it was empty. In fact he made four demands, You can read it in the linked story. He appeared pretty weak. In fact his caucus members did a much better job in the House raising hell.
It boils down to a perception of leadership. We have a long way to go before we have anelection so a lot of things can change. Harper has lost Quebec. The question is will his previous support go to the Liberals or the BLOC. Interesting times in Canada.:)

Harper can gain quebec over the summer, if he works on it. Ease off on arts and culture and talk more on human rights. :)

Arts and Culture was definitely a big GAFF. His Quebec Lt should have warned him. Maybe he did.
