NP Rank:
Canada's Too Open Door Policy on Immigration Scams
Barry Artiste Op/Ed
Many may disagree with this story, but you cannot dispute the fact Canada is played for a sucker by those (Illegal Immigrants and Immigration Lawyers and Consultants) who know how to play the game and tug at the heartstrings and Wallets of Canadians when trying to scam their way into Canada, by hook and by crook. Perhaps it is time to replace these Immigration and Refugee Board officers with lie detector tests for all Immigrants who claim refugee status once they hit our shores. Funny though they do not claim refugee status when they visit our embassy in their home country. It is also funny they can afford a plane ticket to boot. Canada should look for Countries where Refugees are in true dire straits and should be taken in if they are in countries who human rights abuses so horrific,they deserve a better life, failure to do so, allows the moderately well off immigrants (in democratic countries ) who scam the visa and immigration system meant for the true Refugees. Not for economic refugees oversees who jobs may not pay as well as North American jobs, jobs outsourced to these countries in the first place. I put it this way, if you come to this country and make Criminal Activity your lifestyle you should be deported immediately, no second chances, no appeals, you are GONE. In this opinion piece I have included such examples where persons who make crime their forte need to be immediately deported.
A Toronto Nigerian resident Ms. Roseline Ijiola AWOLOPE (35) says she'll be killed and her two young daughters forced to undergo painful female genital mutilation if they're deported. This single mother of 4 children may be rejected as refugee. I think she should be deported. But Mr. Justice Frederick Gibson has ruled differently. Ms. Awolope and family could remain In Canada until an appeal into the case’s original decision is heard [which takes about a year]. If returned home she isn’t facing death, is she?. It is only her word that terrible things will be done to your daughter. There’s no substantiation. I wonder how she got into Canada? I believe she been supported by Canadians since arrival. A mother of such small children couldn’t work. And I wonder who father the last baby (boy) and where. It seems to me her story is a line-of-bullshit! And I fail her as a schemer because she didn’t have her patter down pat. She forgot the “rape” angle for herself and girls. She failed to mention a religious angle of prosecution. Her main line depends on the jack-the-knife tribal rituals.It isn’t enough for me.
What skills and/or benefit does she offer Canada? Reviewing the recent provisions of federal Bill C-50 shows ‘Arranged Employment Opinion” (AEO) to be one of the better criteria for successful applications from abroad. Indeed, it comprises a provision in the Federal Skilled Workers category (‘Points system’). And a positive AEO offers the following benefits to immigration applicants:
● AEO can be issued for any skilled occupation – it is not limited by the ‘Instructions’; ● Additional points granted (up to 15); ● It allows priority in the processing of immigration application(s); and,
● It’s exempted from settlement funds requirement. This process is very different from the Labour Market Opinion (LMO) process used for WORK PERMITS, under which the worker comes to Canada on a temporary visa.
AEO involves a qualified Canadian company making an ‘Offer of Employment’ to the applicant and is very attractive to all parties concerned. The Canadian company doesn’t need to advertise, or need to undertake any recruitment efforts.
It doesn’t need to prove that there’s a shortage of Canadians. It is not required to be profitable (though one would think it’s the cause d’ raison of a viable commercial entity). And it is not restricted from hiring relatives.
To be sure, the requirements and the documentation for AEO are fairly straightforward for existing Canadian business to use. But I still wonder why we need so many immigrants when Canadians are still out of work in historical numbers? In the Information Technology sector, I hear that out-sourcing to countries like China and India will remain in fashion into 2010.
Reduce wage expenses by 35%. Run programs on standard scripts for dullards to use. And make emergency plans for virtual entities to take over “mission critical operations” when calamity strikes. But wait.
A fly in the ointment has occurred in the game-plan top corporate strategists have been expounding. Recently, SWINE FLU scare has affected IT sector in India. Around Hyderabad Google Inc. became the second multinational office firm to shut its doors temporarily over fears about N1H1 virus.
It appears one of its contractual employees was diagnosed with the flu. And like Samsung India Electronics Ltd. the shop was closed. I know here in North America it would be expected that IT personnel work even with N1H1 victims piling up in the thousands. But the byte brotherhood in the sub-continent is too valuable to waste with sick days. Shut the doors and let ill winds blow themselves away.
Then there is a news article about scandal in Barrie’s Conservative Party will allow readers with a little gossip bait. It is alleged a gang sexual assault occurred. The accused are all charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, section 272, which refers to a sexual assault. Each of the accused was charged under two different points of that section.
The first relates to threatening to cause bodily harm to someone other than the victim, and the second deals with committing the offence with others. Mr. Warraich was also charged with attempting to obstruct justice in relation to the assault. Court documents say the alleged offence happened between March 01 and April 29. 2009.
The following people are charged:
Ashfaq GONDAL 5(50) of Barrie, Ontario;
Zaidy HUSSIAN (37) of Innisfil, Ontario;.
Arif MEHMOOD (43) of Barrie, Ontario;
Sardar MUHAMMAD (45) of Barrie;
Sarfraz WARRAICH (42) of Barrie, Ontario;
An interpreter in Erdu, an official language in Pakistan, has also been requested for the court proceedings. Also, a publication ban prevents details of the crime from being released, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
All five men are scheduled to appear in Barrie court next Wednesday. Strange but four of whom have their occupations on court documents listed as taxi drivers with the “new” and now expelled Conservative riding president Mr. S. Warraich working as a mortgage broker.
Amongst the media and public commentary on this story are should Canadians expand their wanderings to Brantford to get the facts is too far.
Perhaps, some wonder what a telephone call to past Barrie N.D.P. candidate Larry Taylor would provide some background information. Nevertheless, a few readers’ comments were; did anyone ask if these accused men are a few of those famous "poor foreign cab drivers with PhDs" we never hear the end of and are bullied into feeling sorry for...
And one commenter did remark that once again, conservative outreach to minorities goes horribly wrong. Who knows? Yet again another person is killed in Toronto’s the good.
Last Saturday a gang of men (said to number 25) assaulted Kristian THANAPALAN (23) in Antrim Park around midnight. A confrontation resulted when several groups of individuals were leaving the area after playing baseball, cricket and volleyball. The incident is under investigation by police. Death was caused by a blow to the head by a bat of some sort. This wanton act of rage and pride might be due to hot bloods who apparently don’t have any saving value besides being “the man.” How dumb. And I doubt if the culprit will be a WASP.
Also, in a downtown traffic stop in Toronto, Police found a handgun and ammunition. The westbound vehicle on Edward Street had six occupants; none admitting to possessing the weapon. Therefore, they are all charged.
They are [from Ottawa, Ontario]:
Abdinasir ABDULLAHI (22) from Ottawa;
Abdalla ABDI (21) from Ottawa;
Abdirahman Ibrahim HUSSEIN (23) from Ottawa;
Mubarak RIRASH (20) from Toronto;
Mohamed SAID (23) from Toronto;
Mohammed WARSAME (22) from Ottawa.
Some may recognize the [last] names for some strange reason if you read the papers.
In Ottawa it is believed that security might have been compromised as Canada’s passport offices. In the past year scramble to meet unprecedented demand for travel documents dirty deeds may have be done. An audit of Passport Canada’s security bureau show some employee felt gaps in the process put us at risk. You don’t say.
Imagine, a landed immigrant could easily verify another person application if they have a valid passport. No problem here? Am I the only Canadian who ask; if people are applying for passport from within our country what is the problem?
A person would reason that only legitimate residents are living here. They were check completely? There should be NO criminals, fraudsters, foreigners, illegals, or terrorist applying from within Canada. But Passport Canada isn’t sure. And we wonder why our cousins and friends in the U.S.A. doubt the safety of their northern bounder. Forget the excuse about applications and numbers increasing over 137%. The core of this issue is that we have undesirables within our homeland. Our immigration system isn’t working correctly. We accept too many refugees. Becoming Canadian is too easy. Immigrants want all the benefits but know nothing of the obligations involved in being Canadian. And newcomers will usually duck the duties of citizenship (if they become aware of them). Wow. You don’t say? Locally, the newspaper exposé about LEGAL AID illustrates another problem connected to our faulty immigration system. People without wanted skills are suck into crime if not poverty. In turn, a wrong step leads to court and the request for legal representation (which must be available to ALL charged in Canada). But a defendant doesn’t have to pay for the freight; the Canadian way is obliged to support the accused and pay.
American President Barack Obama must have read the New York Times. He has order the U.S. to probe deaths of prisoners as far back as 2001 (in the war of Afghanistan). The stuffing of freight containers full of Taliban prisoners for transit to Sheberghan Prison may have occurred. By whom? Authorities are not too sure. I sense a witch-hunt of sorts by Barry O’ and admirers. They must have over-look possible rationales like “war is hell”. The Tailbans are unrecognized religious incense bandits who might not be covered under the Articles of War [from the Geneva Convention]. Coalition troops may not have had correct transports for conveying insurgents at the times. Gestapo type S.O.P. manuals on prisoners’ handling may have been used even if they weren’t antiquated copies; in German; from WWII. Their basic concept is the enemy must to die. AROUND THE WORLD, 10 Sudanese women were fogged for wearing pants. YES, last Monday, Sudanese religious police arrested 13 women in a raid on a café. They flogged 10 of them in public for wearing trousers in violation of the country’s strict ISLAMIC LAW. The 3 remaining culprits are to be tried in an attempt to reject the cases. Stay tune for more harsh punishment.
The historic EUPHRATES RIVER is drying up in Iraq. A drought is spreading throughout the country. After many years of clashing policies and rampant misuse by neigbouring Turkey and Syria the river’s water is being reduced by 95% as the rain-fed flow dwindle in this downstream country of Iraq. U.S. officials now predict wheat and barley output will be little over half of what it was two years ago. Is the biblical prophecy being fulfilled?
Remember, in the Book of Revelation, it’s prophesied that the EUPHRATES RIVER would dry up as a sign of the end. All I know is that the largest exporter of dates in the world is NO more. The one time supplier of Anbar rice is NO more. The best supplier of barley for German beer is kaput. Expect commodity prices for staples to triple soon in the region. And I expect the west to be generous again to save the children, women and men who think we are infidels. GOD be praised!
What happened to cause the cradle of civilization to begin its descent into hell?
War for oil, Western countries propping up dictators like Saddam. The people of these countries need to make a difference, make a democracy and leave religion out of it, or like the book of revelations state, it will be the end of your civilization.
And when that happens when your civilization ends, do not look to Canada for salvation when you had a chance to make a difference in our own country but failed to do so, by your constant infighting among religious sects.
On a last note, Iraq, India, Turkey, Israel, Palistine, Syria, Iran and other mid east and Asian countries, without your influence in arts, math, sciences, language and culture, we as a Western Country would not be where we are today, we took from your teachings to better ourselves, and so should you take a page from your own history book and apply it. Like they say Babies make excuses, Men get results.
The Canadian government was right to impose visa requirements this week on visitors from Mexico and the Czech Republic. The massive abuse of our refugee determination system that has been taking place in recent years left Ottawa with no choice. In the long term, however, the best solution is to fix the refugee determination system itself--even though any such changes will be fiercely opposed by the Canadian refugee lobby, which has for years been able to call most of the shots on how we handle asylum claimants.

I have just read a Globe and Mail article titled "Minister calls for overhaul of Canada's refugee system". Comments by the readers are quite explicit. Looks like Canadians have enough of it.
I think your piece here will give your readers a clearer picture of what's going on. People need to understand that most of these problems are related to multiculturalism. Voters and taxpayers also need to know that it is for them to ask polticians that time to act (for them) has come.
And if immigration represents the future of our country, as politicians claim, should not that issue be publicly debated before and during the next Federal election ?
Now that Jason Kenney has said that changes are needed, what are the opinions of Ignatieff, Layton, Harper and May ?
Should you not send your article directly to these people only to make sure that they read it ?
Personnaly I keep thinking that my country has been a peaceful place to live so far. But analyzing what our immigration policies are and benchmarking with what other countries have done and what have resulted from it, the following question comes to my mind "Peaceful yes, but for how long ?"

Thanks everyone for your comments, in regards to the Russian man hiding in a church in BC , it is still the status quo, with the government refusing to listen. From what I hear his employer will keep his job waiting for him while the government gets with the program, at least this mans family can visit him.
