"Ouch"!!! That's gotta Hurt! You know they say "Sticks and Stones will break your Bones", but calling the Government "Whores", especially the same Government Ministry which previously gave you close to $500,000.00 every year in Canadian Taxpayers Multicultural and Diversity Funds, certainly shows someone ain't particularly Bright in the Haid! Over to you Skeeter!

Course one would think a group like the Canadian Arab Federation, or the CAF who are always quick to use the Canadian Human Rights Commission as their Bestest Pal when they scream discrimination against anyone who looks sideways at them, whether imagined or not.

So in ending it certainly seems appropriate for our Canadian Conservative Government to take the CAF to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal for calling them Whores! But the Canadian Government just lets the Whore Label slide off their backs, as they figure the best way for the CAF to learn is to cut off all Taxpayer Funding to their Organization, as the Government must feel the CAF at times are their worst enemy.

Guess "Revenge is Best served Cold"  as the CAF employees will certainly be shocked to see them Lucrative Taxpayer Funded Paycheques they counted on, have now disappeared faster than a Hooker in mid Payday!

I do however Wholeheartedly Agree with the CAF that Freedon of Speech is Paramount, just as I Wholeheartedly agree that Government has a right to immediately Stop all Funding, when they feel an Organization does not appear to have Taxpayers best interests at Heart!

All in all the Government may be "Whores" as Ex Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney once stated in the 1990s, but in my Opinion, They are "Whores with Money", the CAF rely on to survive!

Say what you want - just don't expect taxpayers to pay

It's never smart to call a federal cabinet minister a "whore" - not when you depend on him for money. But Khaled Mouammar, president of the Canadian Arab Federation, is a fearless man. At a recent anti-Israel rally, he referred to Immigration Minister Jason Kenney as a "professional whore" for supporting Israel.

He called Stephen Harper and Michael Ignatieff professional whores, too. A couple of years ago, when five children from Montreal were killed in the Lebanon war, he said Mr. Harper was "complicit in their killing." At the Liberal convention at which Bob Rae ran for leader, he circulated a letter accusing Mr. Rae of being a racist Zionist, and pointing out that his wife is a Jew.

Last week, Mr. Kenney bit back. He asked his bureaucrats to yank the CAF's $447,000 grant. "They can say what they want within the parameters of our laws, but they shouldn't expect a priori funding." Now the CAF is accusing Mr. Kenney of trying to stifle its right to democratic speech. According to executive director Mohamed Boudjenane, the government's real motive for punishing the CAF is most likely political. "They maybe decided to go after the Zionist vote, like Reisman and Schwartz and Tannenbaum - people who used to be Liberal."

As Margaret Wente said. "Say what you want - just don't expect taxpayers to pay".

Seems simple enough to me.

Someone think he can get public funding in order that he treat those who pay him to "Whores"?

Someone better change planets...........

Thanks Frip, certainly defies logic in my opinion,.

His choice of words is rather ill advised however he does not call the Government such name or insult per say, he call the federal cabinet minister a "whore". Yet the response after Mister Kenney budget cut to them is actually worth and proves a lack of objectivity and fairness toward Kenney. Keep in mind though that emotions are running high after what Israel did in Gaza. That was unacceptable and far worth that any insult could ever be.
I would not use this article to try and portray the Muslim as barbarian because it will back fire soon enough since the bombing on Gaza was horrific and truly barbaric.

The young Muslim woman has a different take. "Why not focus on your new home?" she says. "If you have to protest, do it on your own personal time." She's tired of hearing what an awful, racist society this is. "I've had to work very hard here. But you know, I've had great opportunities."

On the other side of the coin, the Term Whore defines the following as my Friend Tarek Fatah eloquently puts it:

Tarek Fatah from Jakarta, Indonesia writes: Since CAF conducts English as a Second Language classes, one would have hoped their president would know the meaning of the word 'whore'. For the record, a whore is the person who asks for and receives money, not the one who gives it. Fa'himt?

Taking away funding should not be viewed as taking away freedom of speech.

It does say that hey why should we fund an organization that is taking a political stance against the sponsors. If your against government policy okay that's fine its your rights under our democratic laws. How ever would you be even able to voice an opinion back in your mother country and would you also expect your government to fund their opposition?

Never bite the hand of those that feed you especially when they are not harming you and you have been welcomed as a guest or to settle here because you have seek-ed a better life.

Absolutely Babel-Fish.

That cheap and peurile attempt to link the decision to some kind of pro-Jewish policy is disgusting, it shows where those people are really at, and it's proof if ever there was that Kenney was right to turn of the taps.

Period.

Silly for him to say that in the first place - as if this goes through his one word stupidity leak could cost his whole organization so much money... silly...

Sounds like it was more than a 'one word stupidity'. Hear! Hear! Good job. Now if we can just get the rest of the fools who approve funding for places, groups and people that hate us and want to kill us..... to yank the funding.... Maybe it's contagious.

Preaching to the choir my friends, just imagine saying this about a saudi government, one wonders if the saudi government or any other of their government ministries would be as kind or just? That is what separates Western Democracy from the rest of the world.  This organization should thank their lucky stars they can say this, and not suffer the consequences if they said this in their homeland.

That just seems sort of rude... Regardless of political views...
