Stéphane Dion, Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe reportedly signed the Agreement for a Coalition Government on 1 December 2008, in response to the Stephen Harper government's systematized negligence on taking proactive steps on defending Canada from the prevailing economics crisis. This includes vital threats to job security.

The Stephen Harper government has also pursued an overall post-Federal Election reactionary agenda, that further threatens Canada's vital social programmes, and overall Canadian sovereignty. Mr. Harper has also further abused parliament, as he pursues his clandestine North American Union (NAU) agenda. It is apparent that Mr. Harper and his Conservative Party choose “capitalistocracy” (rule by an elite clique of capitalists) over the affirmation of a consensual and participatory parliamentary democracy.

However, it was Canadian author Trevor Harrison who provided perhaps prophetic insights on Mr. Harper's ideological motivations on failing to redress the threat to Canadians...

Isn't there a rule that the first one to invoke Hitler or Nazis loses the argument?

'Eastvanray', Perhaps that's your own "rule".  And, Hitler is spelled with only one 't', eh.

(spelling corrected.  Thanks agora)

This article is a joke.  Harper is no more a believer in eugenics than Layton is a supporter of cultural revolutions.

Your somewhat ignorant response is the apparent 'joke'.  I hope Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada is paying you well.  It is a critically documented fact by Trevor Harrison, et al., that Harper was a member of the Northern Foundation, that supported eugenics, and the social credit supporters in western Canada, linked to the Eugenics Movement, founded the Reform Party, which in turn spawned the Conservative Party.

Your comment is apparent bigoted disinformation, that is consistent with your "Hittler" spelling.

Big lie theory, eh?  Good thing most Canadians are smarter than to believe this kind of crap.  Look at the polls, the Conservatives are currently favoured by a MAJORITY of Canadians.  Your opinion is not finding purchase with the voters.

The article has nothing to do with opinion polls.  The fact that you resort to use the word 'crap' further demonstrates your apparent ignorance.

I agree with agora. Thank you for posting this.

And eastvanray, don't you mean, good thing most Canadians are too apathetic to do their own research? That they get most of their political rhetoric from their biased radio-talk-show rants about coup d'etas? Because otherwise the Conservatives would not be able to have a 39% majority? (that is an oxymoron by the way) I've heard many people say "that if that darn coalition went through thered be riots in the streets forsure"... Failing to ackgnowledge that it hasn't 'not gone through' and that coalition governments and confidence motions are a fundamental aspect of parliamentary democracies.

On a related note, there was that famed Sexual Sterilization Act in Alberta... a trophy of eugenics supporters... and we should never allow eugenics to be a part of public governing again.
