Canadian Forces College Graduation Ceremony truly had a global feel as the Dignitaries from around the world gathered to witness and participate in the Graduation Ceremony in Toronto.
"We prepare senior military and civilian leaders to meet the complex security challenges of the future." is the mission statement of Canadian Forces College and that exactly is what June 26th 2010 saw materialize in the presence of Minister of the crown, an ex-Minister and dignitaries beyond party lines, occupations and belief systems.
Over 200 graduates of senior military ranks from around the world (Poland, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia,France, United States, United Kingdom to name a few countries) received their degrees and diplomas from the Canadian Minister of National defence Peter Mckay, General Craig Hilton, Major-General Fraser and several high ranking Military officials.
The presence of Bollywood and Hollywood film maker Roger Nair must also be noted; who called Canada's contribution to the world, in sharing her knowledge in Military tactics and operations, remarkable. Also present at the occasion was Nepal's Controversial former Chief of Army staff Rukmangat Katwal
The event also saw Bill Graham ( remember the Liberal Foreign minister from the Liberal regime ) being honored by CFC and presented by Peter Mckay. In the cabinet shuffle that followed the 2004 election, Graham was moved to the Defence portfolio. He later made controversial remarks about Canada paying the price if it did not join the missile defense program with the United States.
Canadian Forces college prides itself as a world leader in defence and Security education, research, and outreach, acting as the intellectual engine of the Canadian Forces and enhancing and sustaining the effectiveness of the Canadian Forces and of defence and security organizations within Canada and its alliances.
