Canadian Liberal Candidate Dumped for Anti-Semetic Remarks on 9/11 Attacks by ChrisD

Liberal candidate Lesley Hughes for Kildonan–St. Paul in Winnipeg, Manitoba was dropped by party leader Stéphane Dion on Friday.

This comes after an article Hughes wrote following the 9/11 terrorist attacks that some saw as being anti-Semitic. In the article Hughes suggested that Israeli businesses in the Twin Towers had prior knowledge of the attacks, because they had evacuated the building a week before.

Peter Kent, Thornhill Conservative candidate, said earlier Friday that Hughes’ failure to apologize for her comments makes her unfit for public office and Stéphane Dion should fire her immediately.

Unlike Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who had one of his ministers cracking jokes about the listeriosis deaths, Dion showed leadership and took action immediately.

Hughes' campaign office has since been shutdown and her volunteers have been reassigned to other Liberal ridings within Winnipeg.

The Liberal party has just lost another vote from one of the 54% Canadians who agree with Leslie Hughes.   Leslie Hughes looks like a Semite herself. If she is from the white Anglo-Saxon race she has Abraham's blood and genetic code  in her and is therefore, by definition , a "Semite".  It is impossible for one to be "anti-oneself".  Perhaps it is time our politicians started to study their Bible and not be ruled by intimidation from special-interest groups.
