Canadian refugee decision racist: ANC
A source has stated that the Canadian Immigration an Refugee Board has granted refugee status to a white South African because they believe there was clear and convincing evidence that the South African government was unable or unwilling to protect him.
The South African National Congress said that the found the fact that the refugee claimant stated that he was attacked seven times because of his colour sensational and alarming.
This decision can only perpetuate racism they claimed.
A Canadian immigration tribunal decision giving refugee status to a white South African is a racist move, South Africa's ruling political party says.
Published reports say Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board granted status last week to Brandon Huntley after he claimed he would be persecuted at home because of his colour and the South African government could not protect him.
In a statement, the African National Congress called Huntley's claims of being attacked seven times because of his colour "sensational and alarming."
"Canada's reasoning for granting Huntley a refugee status can only serve to perpetuate racism," the statement continued.
The board refused to comment on the case or to release the decision. Spokesman Stéphane Malepart said he is barred from commenting on any individual case by privacy provisions.

Apparently it is only racist when a person of colour is in danger, as for the rest of us, we are on our own!

Wonder how many celebs, like Sting, U2 and Geldof will be holding concerts in South Africa condemning this practice......MMMMMMMM, NONE!

Fight or flight!
I remember Bro. Eli telling us that in old movies, it is enough that the hero punches the villain one or two times, but now who knows what it got to take to finish the enemy.
If your neighbor doesn't like your color neither your face, they would just attack you 7 times. Then what would you do?
This should involve the International Human Rights. Canada might have just given refuge for the mean time while there is no one else giving him help.
In the Philippines, this is also true in religion. If the government administration favors another religion, they are unwilling to protect the other.
Exposing such inequality costs freedom these days instead receiving justice, understanding and compassion from the authority.

That the Canadian govenment seeks to have the controversial decision in favour of the "refugee" from South Africa overturned, indicactes that the majority of the Canadian electorate cannot put up with the disturbing trend of racism within the public agencies of immigration and citizenship. The taxpayers will soon fork out $2.5 million to compensate an African Canadian woman who had to endure an unnecesary ordeal in a foreign prison for 5 months in what is clearly a blatantly racist neglect of her rights as a citizen. There is no international convention that caters for asylum on the basis of imagined fear of criminal persecution against whites who "... stick out like a sore thumb.."! Why can't Huntley obtain permanent residency like many other skilled white South Africans that were educated by South African taxpayers for the benefit of Canada? What are his qualifications?

I lived in South Africa for awhile and found it a highly race-obsessed society. Certainly much more than Canada. I came away with the feeling that the country still had a long way to go to get passed the apartheid years. Until the ANC brings prosperity to the majority of the black population, the country will simmer with hatred and resentment.

That may take a while yet.
