Thousands of Canadians gathered across the country Saturday January 10, 2009  to rally against the continued Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza. In Toronto, hundreds of protesters waving placards, Palestinian flags and banners in front of the  Israeli Consulate, 180 Bloor Street West, Chanting "Free, Free Gaza,".

A group of Angry protesters burned the American Flag beside the Israeli flags in front of the Israeli embassy in Toronto while few Israeli supporters were standing beside the embassy door  secured by the Canadian police to express their support of occupation.

The Canadian Peace Alliance and The Toronto Coalition to Stop the War have joined with Palestine House, the Canadian Arab Federation, the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid, and others for the Saturday's rally in Toronto. the group called on the Canadian government to intervene in the escalating situation in the Middle East. The Government of Canada has so far rejected calls for a ceasefire and is supporting the war crimes being committed by Israel in Gaza.
