Canadian students, in a rush to make sure that no one thinks they are not crazier than Sharon Stone came up with this.

Toronto:Canadian women have launched a Panties for Peace! campaign to sendtheir undergarments to the Myanmar military junta to frighten it intoending suppression.

At a press conference in Montreal, feminists and civil groups, working under the Rights & Democracy Student Network and the QuebecWomen's Federation, urged Canadian women to inundate the Myanmarembassy in Ottawa with panties to unsettle the military rulers in thesoutheast Asian nation.

But why women's flimsy underthings?

“The Panties for Peace! campaign isbasically aimed to play on the military junta's superstitious fear thatcontact with a woman's undergarment will rob them of their power,”organiser Mika Levesque of the Rights & Democracy Student Networktold IANS.

Errata: nowhere in the article doesit mention "flimsy" as a condition of the panties. Likely that wasdredged from somewhere in my deep dark past. Apologies.
