Canoe couple are sentenced

Anne Darwin was convicted of all 15 charges against her, six of fraud and nine of money laundering, after a seven-day trial.

She has been sentenced to six and a half years - three months more than her husband.

The couple stood with their hands clasped in front of them, separated by a security guard, as the sentences were handed down.

They avoided eye contact with each other as they stood in the dock.

Mr Justice Wilkie told them their "real victims" were their sons "whose lives you crushed".
