Monday 7th 2009 the Obama administration made a very interesting statement manmade greenhouse gases endangers Americans health. This was said to be based on scientific evidence.  This scientific evidence become the main base that federal limits on carbon emissions concerning cars, power plants and factories, etc.

Remembering the cigarette scenario, leading to bans in public places and the health warnings then; that citizen’s sued the tobacco companies to seek compensation for the damage had done to the health.  Just imagine what’s going to happen after new regulations are wrote and put into play.

Of course the statement was carefully worded to not mention a debatable climate change threat but on the fact that carbon emission effect human health.

Now we have an interesting scenario, created due to disclosures that scientist faked climate details, to improve their theories of climate change; that this means USA is now saying we are more worried about the heath of our citizens, so we will cut back emissions.

This now put pressure on the automobile industry to produce carbon emission free automobiles because of the threat of being sued by citizens for ruining their health.

On the other side of that coin is the oil and gas industry where as hydrogen can be produced easier and cheaper from gas; Producing hydrogen from natural gas does result in some greenhouse gas emissions. When compared to ICE vehicles using gasoline, however, fuel cell vehicles using hydrogen produced from natural gas reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 60%.  The need for oil will recede drastically.  The some greenhouse emissions could be pumped back into mother earth deep under ground.

Summary.

Burning fossil fuels have been declared a health risk by USA and forces USA to go completely green if not many citizens can sue.  Its in fact an amusing Irony that one summit and a hacker and a black American president has opened a path to a much cleaner and peaceful world. Thus ends the oil wars on earth but my gut feeling says there will be gas wars. What is said or argued about in Copenhagen does not really matter eventual all nations will go the American way.

Next global problem will be population control…

The country I live in now gave a similar path for citizens to sue the automobile industry and the oil companies concerning carbon emissions. No activist as seemingly sparked yet or maybe its the 10% of the damage amount claim bond needed before legal action takes place has deferred any urge?

The International Council for Science (ICSU) in Paris a federation of scientific associations from around the world, has issued a report concluding that most analyses made, have underestimated the importance to global warming of a gas called nitrous oxide (N2O) by a factor of between three and five. Although N2O is not common in the Earth’s atmosphere, it is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2 and it hangs around much longer. The result is that, over the course of a century, its ability to warm the planet is almost 300 times that of an equivalent mass of CO2. The ICSU report suggests N2O emissions in general are probably more important than had been realized.
If Obama indeed is convinced about a health risk caused by CO2 -which most likely isn't the case- why doesn't he turn to nuclear energy, no CO2, no N2O and transport fuel can be made more economically than extracting from fossil crud.

Actually the statement by the US was greenhouse gases N2O was included.

But please read the following..

Greenhouse gases are gases in an atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range. This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.[1] The main greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. In our solar system, the atmospheres of Venus, Mars and Titan also contain gases that cause greenhouse effects. Greenhouse gases greatly affect the temperature of the Earth; without them, Earth's surface would be on average about 33 °C (59 °F) colder than at present.[2][3][4][5]

Human activities since the start of the industrial era around 1750 have increased the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Radiative Forcing of CO2 is the much higher higher than N2O and N2O has a life span of 114 years or so and there is not actual to much in the atmosphere to cause much of a problem. C2O has a life span of 4 years or so and at present its 388 ppb its level could be taken down below 350 ppb pretty quickly if we go glean and green.
