Carl Lee Walton was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Ronique Ewing and Tonya Smith. Walton, 37, was convicted on Friday and faced life imprisonment without possibility of release.

Attorney Harvey Bryant asked for death sentence today. Relatives of the 2 victims testified and expressed how they were devastated because of the acts of Walton.

Walton killed Tonya Smith, 27, and Ronique Ewing, 28, in an SUV near Norfolk International Airport in 2005.

"He's proven himself to be so violent, so dangerous, that he constitutes a future threat to society," Bryant said.

Walton killed his victims and shot a dog in the head because he was convinced Ewing owed him $600, Bryant stated.

Defense attorney Timothy Quick asked the judge to spare Walton's life, saying his client was intoxicated at the time of the shootings.

Carl Lee Walton said he didn't remember the killings as he had been drinking heavily and used cocaine at the time of the murder.

I think he should have got the death penalty, Kill his a$%, I mean why spend tax payers money on "Menaces To Society" like him. He killed two women who have long lives to fulfill and left their families to mourn them. I think if u take a life u should gives yours, unless it's self defense. RIP Tonya and Ranique.
