I have often seen rats in the Public Markets, recently infact 4 days ago I see a very fat rat in public view, obvisiouly not frighten by people. Nobadt seems to care and I have yet to see a rat catcher and any concern to eradicate the rodents.

I am there for not surprised to see a leptospirous outbrake in Manila due to the rats and the flooding.

THE Department of Health (DOH) warned the public Wednesday against leptospirosis as it noted the rising cases from nine private and public hospitals in Metro Manila.

“With the recent spate of flooding in the different areas of the country, we expect cases of leptospirosis to rise after two weeks and it is still best to be aware of the symptoms and seek early treatment of the disease,” Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III said.

I catch and kill them all the time. People are afraid to do it.

Some stall holders actually feed the rats here and no one takes any notice of them. The rats have become friendly and don't care about crowds and people.  its crazy..
