Casey Anthony Sentence: Will Leave Jail July 13
Casey Anthony Sentenced to 4 Years, Will Serve One Week
Casey Anthony has been sentenced to four years in prison with credit for time served. She will remain in jail for now. She has also been fined $1,000 for each of four counts of providing false information to law enforcement officials, i.e. lying to police.
Casey Anthony has already served nearly three years during the run-up to the 33-day trial. Factoring in time for good behavior, Casey Anthony will be freed from jail on July 13.
According to her legal team, Casey Anthony has received death threats in the wake of the jury's verdict, and protestors have been gathering outside the courtroom; the LA Times describes them as "unhappy Anthony haters", which does not quite capture the nature of the public's displeasure with the verdict.
