Alabama resident Cathy Maples had the winning bid in eBay's auction for a dinner with Sarah and Todd Palin. Maples, 53, owns a defense contracting company and is a big fan of Palin. She has met the ex-Governor at least twice before - once in North Carolina during a fundraiser, and another time when she took her family to Alaska as a graduation present for her grandson. The dinner will take place in Alaska, and Maples is allowed to bring four people, but has to pay for transportation on top of the $63,000.

The eBay-organized fundraising auction brought in $95,000. The money goes to Ride 2 Recovery, a program that supplies wounded veterans with bicycles and rehabilitation. A dinner with George W. Bush's Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove was auctioned for $16,000.

Maples, who is president and chief executive officer of defense contractor R&D Electronics in Brownsboro, said she is a big fan of the former governor.

"I like her morals, and I believe she loves America and would like to do what is best for America," she said. "She doesn't compromise her morals for votes. That's very unusual in a politician."
