Chavez appoints 26 year old lawyer as is Cabinet Minister

Caracas, Venezuela, 3 August, 2008. Today and during his weekly TV show Aló President, Venezuelan Head of State Hugo Chavez appointed 26 year old Hector Rodriguez as his new Cabinet Minister.   The appointment was justified as an attempt to bring new and young life to Chavez´s cabinet.

Rodriguez who recently graduated from law studies at Universidad Cental de Venezuela has been an active  pro government student leader. Just few months ago, he was also appointed as Vice President of the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) for the Guarico state. His appointment has taken many hopeful ministers in waiting by surprise as Rodriguez replaces Jesse Chacon an old ally, seasoned politician and personal friend of President Chavez.
