Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez canceled a trip to Cuba this July 26, in the face of the probability of an attack to Venezuela from Colombia.

The Venezuelan leader accused United States of being behind any instigation to war in the region and pointed out that a US naval fleet in Costa Rica is there to avoid any regional reaction in solidarity with Venezuela before an attack.

Chavez was invited as Honor Speaker to the main rally for the Day of National Rebelliousness July 26 in Cuba, to held in central province of Villa Clara. Two vice-presidents and other many members of the Venezuelan Government traveled to Cuba to attend the meeting and to have an economic summit with the Island.

At the massive rally in Santa Clara, Cuban first vice-president Machado Ventura said in a speech that Cuban people is in solidarity to Venezuela in case of agression.  Regarding Cuba's present situation, he said that al this historical moment «We will change all that should be changed, but without accepting external pressures, neither damages to our sovereignty, and keeping alive our dreams of justice for Cuba and for the world».

It looks like Chavez will need to stay home and watch is Generals. The way things are unfolding, Civil War in Venezuela is more realistic than a  war with Columbia.

No civil war seems possible, let alone imminent,in Venezuela.Of course Chavez must be on the hit-list of US imperialists.War on drugs(war for drugs)is an alibi to justify US army presence in Columbia.CIA had tough time in seizing control of drug trade from drug mafia(CIA's drug empire extends from Columbia to Afghanistan).Armed intervention by US imperialists is quite probable, but Venezuela is Cuba not Chile.US administration's addiction to Vietnam needs rehabilitation.
