The world responded with indifference as Mr. Chavez of Venezuela [who condemns Mr. Michelletti in Honduras for a military coup] closes down most of the radio stations in Venezuela on charges of "non compliance with regulations". The radio stations were accused of broadcasting "defamation" and "fear inducing" news. The reality is that Mr. Chavez who condemns the overthorw of Mr. Zelaya from Honduras does not accept the notion of a free press. The actions of Mr. Chavez are the same as those of Castro in Cuba, Hitler in Germany, and even Bush in America. When will people wake up and support those who want Freedom of the Press? The same people who have been brave enough to denonuce Mr. Mugabe are silent when it comes to Chavez in Venezuela and Castro in Cuba.  Is it because freedom and democracy have become expendible? It is hoped not. The next news needed a lot of research but it deals with the need to be balanced in news. While the world has been focused on Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his cavorting with prostitutes, Venezuelan Head of State Hugo Chavez has admitted that he frequented bars with prostitutes before his 1992 Coup Attempt against then President Carlos Andres Perez [who in spite of his defects was democratically elected]. He admitted doing this with other members of the military and was congratulated by his superiors. He made these declarations before a graduating class of Venezuelan Military Officials with Argentines, Brazilians, and Bolivians present. Why all of the condemnation of Berlusconi and not of Chavez? Why not separate the private from the public life? After all, people have skeletons in their closets. If people cannot separate private from public life, then  it should be publicized without regard to political affiliation and as proof that politicians are also human beings instead of deities.

There's no deviation from the play-book. That's true always and everywhere.
