Caracas, Venezuela, 13 September 2008. Venezuelan President announce today that after attending an UNASUR summit in Chile on Monday to discuss the current Bolivian crisis, he would continue to travel to China, Russia,and Portugal.  This international tours would take place after the most striking events this week in Venezuela: the arrival of military Russian planes at Caracas in reaction to the presence of US fourth fleet, the revelation of a new coup attempt against President Chavez and the declaration of the American Ambassador in Caracas as Persona Non Grata in solidarity with the current turmoil in Bolivia.

This international tour is meant to consolidate strategic alliances of Venezuela with new and emerging super powers as well as solidifing ties with Portugal. Today, nine cooperation agreements were penned between Lisbon and Caracas.
