Chicago...New Murder Capital of America?

Chicago...I love this town, but what happened in 2012-with some 532 MURDERS that took place within the city limits?  Also, more than just a handfull, have already taken place in 2013. Most of these murders are taking place on the city's west side, not the rough south side (fortold in 1970's pop music and Hollywood T.V.  

I just wonder if anyone has any idea how we can reduce these staggering homicide statistics before Chicago gets a REALLY bad reputation.  I want this city back and I know most of you in Chicago, perhaps elsewhere feel the same way!
