Here is my tirade of the day. I am overwhelmed with dismay and my continued amazement in the level of absolute stupidity permeating our criminal justice system.
First point:
Like I've written many times before, rehabilitation is not always an option. I hope this family sues the State of California for knowingly letting this animal out on the streets and...oops! He left the state in search for his next victim. Totally unacceptable.
Second point:
Ten years for molesting AND child porn to boot? Even an idiot can see that our criminal statutes need to be updated to the 21st century.

LAPORTE, Ind. -- A man who spent nearly 40 years in prison for murdering two children was found guilty Monday of possession of child pornography.A jury deliberated just 13 minutes before returning its verdict against Richard Dobeski.
Dobeski, who also was sentenced to eight years in prison in April for molesting a 7-year-old boy, faces up to three more years in prison.
His latest convictions sprung from an investigation in Pulaski County where three boys last summer claimed he offered them $50 to take their pictures.
Dobeski was sentenced to life in prison in 1964 for the murders of 6-year-old and 3-year-old siblings in Long Beach, Calif. An appeal later reduced the sentence to 40 years, and he was released in 2003.

This story is very disturbing. It blows my mind that he was ever released. This case is a prime example of how our criminal system is failing us. Why dangerous individuals are being released from our overcrowded prisons to make room for non violent offenders is beyond me...

Disturbing, yes! Unbelievable, no. I was a cop 10 years and left because I could no longer tolerate the "revolving door syndrome" of our "justice system". Suspects would be back on the streets before I even finished writing my arrest report!!
