Somehow, somewhere a special interest's group is smiling as their collective sphincters are tightening up in unison! All at the U.K. Taxpayer's expense of course.
So a child can be called racist for saying Yuk, about tasting a food they dislike? Especially if it is a food from another culture. Hmmmm anyone who has a young child certainly know their tastes change as they age, I know my child hated MacDonalds Burger, loved the fries, but really only wanted the toy they offered! So one can realistically assume either my child was anti Scottish because the name MacDonalds, or perhaps anti small prison striped person of small stature because he did not like the HamBurglar character. Later only to find out why? He thought he was eating an actual Hamburglar!
Someone in PC Land, needs a real Bitchslap upside the Head! Opps, apparently now I am a Bigot against the Ludicrous (Politically Correct) . Well so be it!

Toddlers should be taught about racism and singled out for criticism if they have racist attitudes, a Government-funded advisory group said yesterday.
It told nursery teachers, playgroup leaders and childminders to record and report every racist incident involving children as young as three.
These could include saying 'Yuk' about unfamiliar food.
Even babies should not be ignored in the hunt for racism because they can 'recognise different people in their lives', a new guide for nurseries and child care centres said.
The instructions for staff in charge of pre-school children in day care have been produced by the National Children's Bureau, which receives £12million a year, mostly through taxpayer-funded organisations.

So every law against cannibalism is racist because there are some cultures that call for the eating of other humans? These people need to get some real jobs.

Will they now force-feed children foods they don't like in the name of multiculturalism?
What if the kid doesn't like it because it's really just BAD FOOD, such as spoiled or improperly cooked meat / eggs. OR something they're allergic to. Should we be teaching children not to speak out if the food they're served is unsatisfactory?
There's a difference between saying (pardon me for what will probably sound offensive):
"Yuck, this food tastes bad!"
"Yuck, I hate your food nigger!"
(Note: I have nothing against anyone, generally. The above quotes are simply for illustrative purposes.)
One statement expresses a person dislike of the specific food, ingredients, etc. The other expresses a dislike of the person, race or culture. The latter is more and more unacceptable. The former is fine. Kids don't like certain foods. Tastes change over time. As a kid, I couldn't stand avacados / guacamole / blue cheese. Now, I enjoy them quite a bit. Still not a fan of soda / cola, however. But that doesn't make me a racist...
Political correctness taken to extremes becomes a ridiculous exercise.
Children are, by nature, not expected to live up to "adult" standards. That's why we have age restrictions on things considered to be "adult" (service in the military, buying cigarettes or booze, buying or participating in adult entertainment/art, consensual sex). Children are generally not expected to have the wherewithal or "good judgment" to process such things. Do they truly think that toddlers engage in "hate crimes" or "racism?" If so, they should probably correct or redirect the child, and possibly investigate the parents if they're spewing hate / racist propaganda to their children. But, one shouldn't blame the babes for the sins of the parents and society at large.
This world is becoming stranger by the minute.

Thanks for your comments mgmirkin, certainly a childs taste changes over time, with virtually every food under the rainbow, my kid as a baby would only eat Bananas and cereal. Then he went to tuna and toast, then to bagels etc. Yet all these above mentioned foods were introduced to him before and he disdained them vehemently. Yet from year to year, hell in fact sometimes from week to week, his tastes changed which totally frustrated the crap out of my wife and I. Our Doctor said SCREW EM, put what you eat in front of him and if he refuses to eat, then tough cookies,. We did that, he whined and hollered until to get peace we relented and gave him carrots and cheese strings. Certainly these assholes never had kids. Our two daughters were never a problem as children, of course a 5 minute drive home sometimes took an hour as we had to avoid streets where Burger King, KFC,MacDonalds, Toys R Us, you name it were located, then all hell would break loose.
My Boy now a teen is 6'4" 230 pounds and now eats everything he can find in the house, ahh the days when Tuna and Toast sufficed,

You know the funny thing, this PC crap is not instigated from other cultures, it is instigated by the lily white western Wasps of politically correctness, whose head is stuck so far up their own assholes, they can nary see the light of day! It is stuff like this that incites Racism, plain and simple. People read this tripe and assume some culture was insulted when we all know this LEFTY INSPIRED WHITE WESTERN ASSWIPE OF SOCIETY, Never asked a culture if they would be insulted by this, as we all know the POLITICALLY CORRECT force their mistaken beliefs on other Cultures, so when this Politically Correct Group at night sucking on their Tofu Lattes, can smugly say, Look what we Did to help save the Darkies, Muslims, Greenlanders, Inuit, Albanians, Vegans etc. We did this cause they are different and we must use every last goddamn cent of the taxpayers money to ensure they feel at home and never feel slighted by any White Persons comments.
If it were up to me, I would round up these PC Bozos and send them to Africa where they can practice PC'ism's with Mugabe. As I am sure Mugabe will have some choice PC statements for them as each shovel full of dirt envelopes their bodies and muffles their whiny screams.

I don't think that 3-year-olds really understand the difference between ethnic groups- other kids are just "other kids"; they'd be even less able to make a qualitative judgement about that difference.
I'd say that if you need both hands to wash a tomato, then you probably cannot form racist opinions. (And we're not counting those toddlers who get dragged to Klan rallies or whatever- they didn't exactly jump in the truck and start driving)
