São Paulo, 07-30-2009. Chile and Brazil strengthened their friendly ties as Bachelet and Lula talked in São Paulo.

Presidents Michelle Bachelet and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva held meetings today at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP).

President Bachelet headed for Brazil in order to develop an agenda aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties. She used the opportunity to talk about issues such as the coup in Honduras, the global economic crisis, and the future of the South American Union of Nations (UNASUR).

Presidents Lula and Bachelet confirmed several agreements, including a bilateral accord on social security which will benefit thousands of nationals that migrated to both countries.
