Chilean Miner Mistress: Yonni Barrios' Wife Won't Attend Rescue
Update: 1:16pm PT
Yonni Barrios is now out of the mine and there are conflicting reports as to who met him at the top. Chilean TV, and the BBC reports that it was his wife (although the BBC first reported that it was his girlfriend). CNN however, thinks that it was his mistress and not his wife.

Chilean Miner Yonni Barrios May be Greeted by His Mistress When He is Rescued, But Not His Wife
Yonni Barrios's wife Marta Salinas ran into her husband's mistress while waiting for her husband to be rescued over the past 69 days, and she says she will not be waiting for him at the top when he is pulled to safety.
She learned of his mistress Susana Valenzuela after Yonni became trapped underground.
Now Marta will not be waiting anymore.
"I'm happy because he was saved. It's a miracle from God. But I won't attend the rescue," Salinas told South American newspaper Clarin.
It is not known what exactly will happen between Yonni and his wife and mistress when he finally reaches the surface and starts to adjust to his life again.
Marta has said that as long as Yonni is safe, she is going to leave him.
"In phone conversations and letters he's sent to me it's clear that he's fine and that's enough for me," she said.
People will be watching to see if Susana will be at the top to greet him.
Yonni has reportedly requested both women to be at the top to greet him, but his wife has said she has too much dignity to be there if his mistress is also going to be present.
His sister Zulemy Barrios will be there at least.
Yonni Barrios is expected to be the 21st miner rescued.

I hope none of his lovers attend, and save the dignity of his loyal long standing wife. Hope his sister is there instead and avoid a media circus

As of last report, I am glad that it appears that his wife is going to be there to greet him.A mistress is just a mistress, but a wife of 20+ years is much more (whether he can admit this or not). I love that one of the miners has stated that he is going to marry his longtime love of 24 years in a church wedding! This traumatic event can really make people "get it", what's really important in life. What seemed likely to be a tragedy has turned into a heart-warming celebration of living, the "spirito humano".

the mere fact that the mistress was there shows that she has no dignity. I hope the wife gets PAID and leave Barrios and the tramp broke AFTER the books and movie deals :D

Ease up on the mistress, folks. From what I've read on other sites, she didn't know that he was married until both she and the wife both showed up at a prayer service at the camp. Believe it or not, some men can hide their marriages very well. I know this first hand. He's the one at fault here. Granted, she should back off since he is married (that's what I did when I found out), but maybe they've been together too long.
