Ah Bless their cotton socks, the Chinese Government officials kind gesture to Tibet in what can only be described as a  "Olive Whip of Higher Learning" are now implementing Education Classes in all Monastaries.  Tibetans normally quite studious, may be calling in sick most school days, or using their dogs as an excuse for eating their homework. The Chinese are hoping to fill their classes with apple cheeked Tibetans youngsters eager to learn the Communist Doctrine, by passing out the much touted Red Book, a best seller in China for all it's citizens to keep on their persons, available whether you want the book or not.

One can be certain the Human Rights sections in the Red Book may be missing on the Chinese instructed Course Curriculum, with failure, clearly not an option.

BEIJING -- A top Chinese security official has criticized Tibetan Buddhist monks for taking part in anti-government protests and announced that "patriotic education" classes would be expanded at monasteries.

Public Security Minister Meng Jianzhu toured three key monasteries in Lhasa to drive home China's message, the Tibet Daily reported yesterday. His visit was the first by a high-level central government official since protests in the Tibetan capital turned violent this month.

Unrest among Buddhist clergy has been blamed in part on the widely reviled classes, which force monks to make ritual denouncements of their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, and declare loyalty to Beijing. Dozens of Tibetan clergy are serving prison terms for their resistance to "patriotic" or political education.

I think the unrest started with the leveling of a holy mountain by the Chinese, strip-mining, and the sitdown protest by the monks from the monastary at that mountain, that was violently putdown by the Chinese.

Thanks Rene, it boggles the mind that such a massive country would try and destroy a small country, for minerals.
