China News just announced that it is building some rather large refineries in Niger and Chad for it Oil exploitation there who's rights it acquired earlier this year. This can only mean more trouble for the already op-reset Tuareg Nomads of the area, since the oil is in their territory as well as the Uranium mines, yet they do not profit from it in the least. China's investments are extremely high in West and East Africa and focus mainly on Fossil Fuels such as Oil and Uranium. Making China now the primary investor and business partner in West and East Africa.
This how ever does not profit the people at large nor gives them new schools, hospitals or justice. China is not the culprit here though, more so the local governments that invest the new fund wealth into weapon and mercenaries allowing them to stay in power and sending large sums of money to Swiss and Lichtenschtein Bank accounts.
This rather then helping the people of Niger and Chad is bleeding them even further and brings with it more oppression and more injustice as well as more poverty.
China could change some of that by putting positive pressure on the ruling cast, however nor the European or the American or Canadian and Australian did so them self when they where in control. So Far Canada and France had the lion share of the Uranium even though Canada has more then enough Uranium on its own territory it is deeply involved in the International Uranium mining, processing and selling as well as the USA, China and Russia, even though China does now hold control of the lion share of West African and East African Oil, Canada still maintains control of the Uranium in Niger so far wish is a direct cause off the oppression of the Tuareg people.
Those Refineries will not bring to many jobs either for most of the workers will be Chinese and the compound will be fenced off and deeply guarded. Africa is extremely rich and yet its people are starving, thanks to our hunger for oil and uranium in the industrialized world and thanks to corrupt and oppressive Governments that we in the Industrialized world help to maintain power.
How nice would it be if we grow a conscience and would start acting responsibly not ego centrically.
