China's loss of identity

The economic success of the Asian giant has made us forget worker exploitation and the disregard for minimum safety requirements in the workplace

China is pursuing the Western model without stopping to think, without considering the environment or its culture. Everything traditional has been replaced by the new, which is nothing like the western myth which the Chinese unconditionally, aspire to.

Those wonderful wooden roofs no longer exist, nor do the glass lined tiles or the square courtyards of Beijing, everything has been teplaced with skyscrapers made by renforced cement, without the residents' authorisation. Built by workers earning 80 euros a month, these skyscrapers tower 100 metres high on bamboo cane scaffolding, without any safety requirements.

Non-stop parades of western fashions are projected on the monitors of the metros in Guangzhou(Canton). Many Chinese people work for 14 hours a day to be able to afford desiner jumper, in the best case scenario, was produced by a colleague in a local factory, commissioned by the original brand for widespread distribution.

A road out of control. Multi-cilinder Mercedes hurtle through the network of highways which have been built over the last ten years, where oblivious bicycles and tractors go past on the wrong side of the road, alongside old women carrying rice paper umbrellas and children tied to their backs, unaware of the fact that they are walking along a road for cars only. Travelling by car is like in a video game, it's just that here on the road the 'game over' is real. Chinese people have switched suddenly from the bicycle to the car, and this has resulted in a dizzying increase in road accidents. I saw terrifying roas manoeuvres which I thought only possible in films.

Development and the environment. The increase of vehicles in countries like India and China has resulted in a higher dependency on fuel, which could reduce them to joining the pre-emptive war for raw materials. The Chinese boom, the Indian boom, and the boom of petrol: soon the real boom will hit Gaia and its people.   The People's Republic should comply with the Kyoto protocol, in force since 16th February 2005, which requires industrialised countries to reduce their pollutant emissions (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide, etc) between 2008 and 2012 to amounts which are at least 5.2% lower in comparison with 1990.  However it is hard to impose compliance with the Kyoto protocol on a country which is officially considered as 'developing', when even the United States do not adhere to it.

Loss of identity.  What is happening in China cannot be called development but rather a loss of identity, or total destruction of the planet. Sending inspectors to the non-tourist side of the east coast would be enough for them to realise that environment standards are not respected and industrial waste is dumped, polluting 70% of the rivers where radioactive fish are caught and exported for sushi.

Coal mines are continually being built, taking thousands of miners with them.  Between 1992 and 2002, 59,543 workers have died in the mines.  Non-compliance of safety procedures and a lack of ventilation are the most common causes of fires and explosions.   Ensuring safety is the responsability of the central government and local authorities, but Beijing has not even signed the International Convention for safety miners composed in 1995 by ILO, the International Labour Organisation.

The only control in force in China is money.

The main cause for concern is Chinese factories, where workers work around the clock to produce collections for our fashion industry, which is ready to claim it cares for the environment in its designer label t-shirt on television.   It's a shame that the washing of this 'cool and trendy' t-shirt is done by workers less than 30 years old who die of cancer after working with the toxic processes, with bare hands and no safety protection.

...Yhe only control in force in China is money...

In the next future, a revolution which has to do with the freedom of the energy of the atom, will change drastically the modern thought and life.

This fact will totally modify the economical and political world-scenario.   Our mechanic civilization will be semolified and an era free from the nightmare of having or not money, will start.

The human family will recognise the connection among the vegetable, mineral, animal kingdoms and the spiritual one.   There will be time and freedom to cultivate the culture of the Soul, this will substitute our modern educational methods.

The meanings of the powers of the Soul and the development of a super-human consciousness will be everywhere and will be the target for the educational staff of the future!
