After weeks of pro-Tibet rallies across Canada, more than 6,000 Chinese-Canadians demonstrated on Parliament Hill on April 13 2008 to call for an end to the politicizing of the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing.
The rally protested the violence happening in the Tibet region and also that the Summer Games are being mixed up with politics.

"You need to understand the history of Tibet and China before you decide,” said the Ottawa chemist. “Without that knowledge, you cannot say anything.”
