Chris Rainey Faces Felony Stalking Charge

Florida Gators receiver Chris Rainey has been arrested and charged with third-degree felony aggravated stalking. Chris Rainey admitted to sending a text message to the unnamed woman, whom he had previously dated, that read, "Time to die" after she had asked him to leave her house.

The woman called the police. When an officer had her call Rainey, he allegedly told her, "See what happens when they leave", a claim that Rainey denies.

The woman asked for the charges against Chris Rainey to be dropped, saying that she is not afraid of the football star, but is concerned about backlash from the public.

Allegedly, he arrived at the victim's home after 11 p.m. on Monday, calling and texting her from outside the door. She eventually went outside and talked to him after Rainey told the victim, "I'm here and I will bust out the window".

Rainey was then asked to leave and the threatening text was then sent later.

Either way, it's a mess and not exactly the kind of thing a team wants hanging over its head going into its SEC opener. Florida plays at Tennessee on Saturday.
