Christmas Murder-Suicide: Gunman Dressed as Santa
Murder-Suicide in Grapevine, Texas: 7 Killed
Four women and three men, aged 18 to 60, were found dead in a Grapevine, Texas apartment on Christmas Day. The gunman, described by police as a relative of the family who lived at the apartment, was dressed as Santa Claus; he apparently opened fire just after the family opened their presents.
The motive for the Santa murder-suicide is unclear. The killings took place at the Lincoln Vineyards apartment complex. Police responded to a 911 call during which the dispatcher didn't hear anything, just dead air.
If this story sounds somewhat familiar, it's because a gunman dressed as Santa was involved in a murder-suicide in Covina, California in 2008:
The identities of the victims have not yet been made public. According to the Houston Chronicle, these have been the first murders in Grapevine, a suburb of Fort Worth, since 2010.
