Hindus fight Christians, Muslims fight Hindus...Christians fight, Jews fight, and so do the Buddhists. When are we ever going to stop and ponder? If at all.

Churches burnt in India

BHUBANESWAR, Sept 1: Mobs burnt at least four more churches as religious violence appeared to spread in Orissa.

Thousands of people, mostly Christians, have taken shelter in makeshift camps in the Indian state, where mobs went on the rampage last week after a Hindu leader was killed. Mobs set fire to four churches in the districts of Koraput and Rayagada, Orissa’s director general of police Gopal Chandra Nanda said.

Two churches and several houses were also burnt in the Kandhamal district.—Reuters

rumana husain, I like this story. It's good stuff. Yes we must condemn against this religious fundamentalism.

you know i believe this can only be achieved with intermarriages between people belonging to different faiths, castes and creeds...races. otherwise there is no hope for humanity.

I do not think that this will work though. The only think that may work is the outlawing of all religions, or a state religion or Intellectual Growth.

>i believe this can only be achieved with intermarriages

Inproved communication through the Internet.  International joint projects such as space exploration and hydrogen fusion power research.  Economic growth and improved public schools.  Social evolution.

thank you for the flag paschen, but 'state religion'? intellectual growth...yes.

I am not saying it is a good Idea, yet it is one of 3 workable solutions. I prefer the Intellectual growth for one.

nice effort ...............but what is the need of mentioning caste while reporting violence.we can solve this forever if we stop this divisive language.any kind of division leads to conflict and where there is conflict there cannot be harmony.

amitjha, thank you for your comment. the 'caste and creed' in my comment is a figure of speech, if you know what i mean...just like 'time and clime' is.

Religion: the most dangerous and destabilizing force ever to plague human beings.

azzayindia

well this it was christian fundamentalists who staarted it all by murdering VHP activist.the violence in the name of fundamentalism needs to be condemned be ity any religion.

the conversion by rich religion is insitgating this violence. Why convert and create more religious fanatics i would love people to be converted into scientology if they reallly want to convert.

azzayindia, who started first does not help. India is overpopulated, you need urgently 1 child/family politcs like China. Second who takes care of the young female children you throw on the streets, only male s have a value. The christians pick the females up in orphanates, that you burn then, if you find no prostitiutes.  I think India is adult enough to start to regulate overpolulation.

rumana husain, I like this story. Religion and politics can not solve problems of overpopulation with the most stupid at the front end, taking the space of the intelligence by the law of business religions. It is the fight of the civilizations what we see in India America Africa Europe. The religion is secondary. The heart of man has to be reeducated as well as the consciousness for the good in yourself and seeing the good in the other, and a package of  family planing, it's overpopulation violence.

thank you for your comments moonwolf, azzayindia, amyjudd and solarlife. religion is always a touchy issue. however, it does not matter 'who started it' and who is 'picking the females'. there may be only one basic problem here: religion(s), period.
