Mehsud's death sparked CIA attack - 09 Jan 10

Humam Khalil Abu Mulal al-Balawi, the Jordanian doctor responsible for killing seven CIA employees, indicated in a video posthumously broadcast on Saturday that his actions were in response to the death of Baitullah Mehsud, the Pakistani Taliban leader killed by a US drone missile attack on August 5.

In the video, al-Balawi said, "We will never forget the blood of our emir Baitullah Mehsud."

Al-Balawi  went on to say, "We will always demand revenge for him inside America and outside. It is an obligation of the emigrants (Muslim fighters from abroad) who were welcomed by the emir."

According to Al Jazeera, Mehsud was the leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, a Pakistani Taliban umbrella organization, and was blamed for numerous suicide bombings and other attacks in the country.

Baitullah Mehsud's successor, Hakimullah Mehsud,  is shown sitting next to al-Balawi in Saturday's video.

In the video, al-Balawi said about Mehsud's successor, "God willing his successor the Emir of Pakistan's Taliban Hakimullah will go on the same methodology and the same path until we achieve victory or meet the same fate like that of Hamza Abdul Muttaleb."

According to Al Jazeera, the video showed "there was clearly a link between the Pakistani Taliban, headed by Hakimullah Mehsud, and some of the al-Qaeda elements operating in the area".

Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra, reporting from Kabul, said that al-Balawi's video message would provide the Afghan government with "more ammunition" with which to criticise their counterparts in Pakistan.

"This is definitely something that is going to put more pressure on the Pakistanis in the future and will definitely make the Afghans and the Americans change their strategy as far as dealing with eastern Afghanistan."

The attack in Khost was the worst single loss of life for the CIA since the bombing of the US embassy in Beirut in 1983.

The Afghan policy of late Zia-ul-Haque could be harbinger of such vast devastation and death on such massive scale no one in US empire or brutal dictator's office even would have thought of.Although it was expected of after exit of Soviet Union from Afghan territory. The incessant war against Afghans may not end in near future, but acts of utmost voilence against occupier will continue.
