Area G of the City of David excavations. The wall to the right is 7 meters thick, and according to archaeologist Eilat Mazar, it forms the eastern wall of the large 10th Century BCE public building she has excavated in the City of David. The stepped stones (also known as The Stepped Stone Structure) below and to the left are, according to Dr. Mazar, support for the wall, which sits above a 60 degree slope.
