The foundation stones of a large 10th Century BCE building, According to archaeologist Eilat Mazar, who heads the excavation, this building was a large public building, and could only have been erected by a major kingdom. The dating of the structure sets it at the time of the rule of King Solomon or King David, and the structure therefore serves as direct evidence of the existence of their realm and its importance.
