unfortunately, the Coptic Christians are not treated very well by the Muslim majority or the Egyptian government.  Islamic terrorists began a well-orchestrated campaign of intimidation and assaults upon Coptic communities, killing more copts. This violence horrified Muslim neighbors who were quick to condemn the attacks, but these condemnations did little to stem the attacks - it certainly did not move the government to actually treat the Copts like real citizens worthy of protection.

Repeatedly, Copts are charged and convicted on ridiculous, trumped-up charges or are sentenced to severe prison terms for allegedly saying things critical of Islam. Police routinely ignore acts of mob violence against the Copts, but they use investigations as an excuse for their own acts of intimidation and violence against these small and relatively defenseless communities of Christians.  the killing, burning and looting are let off without punishment. acts of violence takes place due to the Egyptian Government's attitude of failing to apply deterrent laws on assailants on one hand, and the increase in 'Muslim mob justice' of taking the law in their own hands without fear of retributive justice

Christian villages have become the target of violence by the Egyptian authorities. The most recent of these attacks was on Friday, 7/3/09, in the village of Guirgis Bey, Akfahssi, El-Fashn <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Upper Egypt. As a result, many homes and businesses belonging to Christians were set on fire and destroyed.

in the Upper Egyptian village of Ezbet Boushra-East, on 6/21/09 when Copts were assaulted, their homes destroyed and their crops uprooted by a Muslim mob

Despite the call by millions of Christian and  in Egypt to get rid of Article 2 from the constitution, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has joined forces with the Muslim Brotherhood to fight hard to include this article. .

National American Coptic Assembly implores the U.S. government to stop the Egyptian government from the continued violence and subjugation against the Coptic Christians before their presence in Egypt is completely destroyed

All forms of genocide are deplorable whether religious or ethnic, and it is encumbant upon all nations that support the rights of  individuals to worship freely without fear to state dissatisfaction with suppression and violence; therefore, working through the collective voice of the United Nations is an option.

This is a total exaggeration. Coptic voices  outside Egypt are trying to ignite a civil war between the Muslims and the Copts although they are living in peace. It is their voices abroad which are trying to give a false image of the situations of copts inside Egypt to get world attention and money to serve a false stereotype of coptic minority mal treatment.

Unfortunately the world belives them!!!!!!!
