After reading this, one can understand why some protestors wish Afghanistan and the Middle East should be left to their own devices, when apparently even our allies are as brutal as the Taliban they are trying to destroy.
Atrocities against men women and particularly children will never see the Light of Day in an International courts as most turn a blind eye to those who suffer at the hands of their supposed protectors.
We will have a Canadian Investigation, but I feel it will just turn into a "Please do not do that again", we are really powerless to do anything in a Country when we try to impose our own moral and political will.

The Canadian Forces will launch a board of inquiry to look into allegations that soldiers' complaints about Afghan troops and police raping boys were ignored by the military leadership.
Military police have also launched an investigation into the same incidents. The issue surfaced in the summer after media reports detailed soldiers' concerns about sexual abuse of boys at the hands of Afghan personnel.
In June, the Toronto Star reported that, in late 2006, a Canadian soldier had heard an Afghan soldier raping a young boy at one of the outposts near Kandahar.
The soldier later saw the injuries the boy sustained, including seeing his lower intestines falling out of his body, a sign of trauma from anal rape.
The soldier, who now suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome, originally described the assault to a closed-door meeting of a parliamentary committee on national defence in May.

Unfortunately it is their culture and ways and we should not interfere. Man-boy love is a big thing in Islamic culture and has been around for centuries.

I can't say what I want because I will get kicked off this site! Love is one thing almost killing a child is another. Having sex with a child is wrong no matter who's doing it. We should interfere and will! Every Single time we hear that is happens.

Yeah, well morally repugnant, you all are most likely correct, let them eradicate themselves, and bar our borders from any wishing to immigrate to our shores, that way they will be forced to make and fight and die in order to make changes themselves instead of us dying for them, thanks everyone for your comments and flags

This isn't nothing? I don't care what or who's doing it. A child, the most precious thing that God can give you in life. Afghan soldiers raping boys has nothing to do with religion sorry! Please take your blinders off.

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's good stuff. Justice should prevail even under Sh'ira Law, as this behavior is unacceptable by Islam and reading the Quran!

A very disturbing report. The New York Times ran a story about Karzai's brother being linked to the heroin trade and the Independent an excellent article on the increasingly bleak situation of women in Afghanistan http://tinyurl.com/44nqxx It's been obvious for a long time that the current strategy is not working. It seems to me that there either needs to be much more money invested into making Afghanistan work, or else some kind of deal with the Taliban. It may be too late for the latter, as the Taliban seem to be winning the war of attrition.

Barry Artiste, I like this story. It's bad stuff that needs to be sensible addressed.
Child rape goes on everywhere in the world, we can blame the man or men involve as its clearly repulsive and totally cruel. Buts lets not blame the Muslims or Afghanistan people its the criminals the guys that do these incredible calous things.
This should not be swept under any carpet and the blame should be directed at where it truthfully belongs. I really don't think that there is no religous or democratic or social based law that respects this kind of cruelty or behaviour in this World. The punishment should be the maximim under the law.

If I were the soldier who witnessed it, I think it would be impossible for me not to take this guy out!
