Cut some slack, I will. President Obama wanted to clean the slate to focus on the future with energy independence and an escape from fossil fuels that at present elude our capture. Mitch McConnell, the old right winger from Kentucky wants attention to solving the crisis at hand. Both are correct.

Stop the gushing and pass legislation that will put America on a new energy path, now.

By the way, stop the wars we cannot afford. Protect our borders. Focus attention on streamlining government, increasing performance with a much smaller bureaucratic footprint.

Most essential, develop policies for Renewing Manufacturing America. Stimulate capital formation for private sector investment in producing goods made in America.

Reduce the deficit by cutting government programs, waste, fraud, and abuse, all of the things on the President's agenda.

Lead with bipartisan outreach because Americans will support that now. We're ready. Are you, Mr, President?

In address to nation, Obama urges action on clean energy bill

But Obama spoke only in general, often lofty terms about the need for Congress to pass energy reform legislation this year, a point he has made at least twice in the past month. He did not call for a price to be placed on carbon, even though one senior administration official said he thinks that is the most effective way to reduce U.S. energy consumption and protect against climate change.”
