Clouds clear for Jetman Yves Rossy to retry Channel crossing

The Swiss daredevil who is attempting to be the first man to fly across the channel in a single-wing jet-propelled pack will make another attempt today, after yesterday's flight had to be cancelled because of weather conditions.
Clouds cleared at the coast today giving hope to the Swiss daredevil who hopes to cross the English Channel equipped only with a carbon-fibre wing and four miniature jet engines.
Yves Rossy aborted his bid yesterday after his look-out Stephane Marmier in Dover warned him of a dark cloud overhead.
Marmier, told The Times that conditions today are ideal. "Today it is perfect weather. If the wind stays like this it will be alright. If something changes maybe we start early."

Rossy, 49, known as Fusionman, plunged from an aircraft more than 8,200ft (2,500m) above the French coast.
He then soared at more than 100mph over one of the world's busiest shipping lanes powered by four jets on his homemade wing.
The daredevil took less than 10 minutes to fly from the French coast to the white cliffs of Dover where he parachuted safely to the ground.

Interesting that this just got updated and put back on the front page. This flight was covered live in other venues. But a story headlined and saying that the attempt +++++will be made today+++++++ is back on the NP front page, hours later..
Congratulations to those who posted the news of the flight, but all in all, rather than updating and recycling the old stories, better for the paid contributors to submit new material, especially now that the story of the success is several hours old.
