CLT20 2013: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kandurata Maroons Scorecard
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kandurata Maroons Live Score of Champions League T20 2013, 2nd Match Qualifying Group played at PCA Stadium, Mohali on September 17 2013.
Hyderabad Sunrisers were placed fourth in the IPL last season and are up against champion T20 teams from Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Yet, they are strong contenders to grab one of the two berths available in the main draw of the Champions League cricket championship.
On Tuesday, Sunrisers will face the strong Maroons in a night game. Sunrisers are being led by India's new batting sensation Shikhar Dhawan, as their original captain Kumar Sangakkara has opted to play for his home team Kand Maroons. In an irony of sorts, Sangakkara, who had guided Sunrisers to the fourth spot in IPL last season, will now be plotting to derail the same team when the two clash here on the morrow.
In the original schedule, the six-match qualifying leg was supposed to be played at Sunrisers' home ground in Hyderabad, but had to be shifted here due to trouble brewing over the Telengana issue. It's difficult to say if the change in venue would have any impact on Sunsrisers' fortune. But according to their coach Tom Moody the team is happy to play at Mohali. "We have played at Mohali during the IPLs and the domestic players keep playing here regularly. I don't think it's going to be an issue."
Undoubtedly the biggest challenge Sunrisers will face is from Kand Maroons who have at least 10 international players in their ranks. The T20 champions from Sri Lanka are quite capable of topping the qualifying group.
If Sunrisers make the grade, they will join Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the main draw.
