CNN mix-up tickles Alberta tourism officials
It sure looks as if we need to get Jeannie Moos out of New York once in a while. Jeannie, a well known CNN reporter, did the story on that squirrel that accidentally showed up in the picture of those Minnesosta tourists.
The picture was taken in the resort town of Banff, Alberta. Jeannie said it was in British Columbia. We have decided to forgive Jeannie for that Gaffe. After all, here in Alberta we're forgiving people.
Actually the whole incident is quite funny. I will still enjoy the little stories Jeannie Moos does. Welcome to Alberta Jeannie.
A story by a well-known U.S. TV reporter on the squirrel that accidentally had its picture taken near Banff has touched off a few laughs at Alberta Tourism.
CNN's Jeanne Moos mentioned in a recent story about the now internet-famous rodent that the Rocky Mountain resort town is in B.C., not Alberta.
However, Kurt Schroeder, a marketing official with the Banff Lake Louise tourism branch, said he's determined to laugh off the gaffe.
"We're a very forgiving crew here. As Canadians, we can't help ourselves — we're just humble like that," he said.
"Really, quite frankly, I got a bit of a chuckle out of it. This is such a fun story and this is a time where fun is especially welcomed."

That damn squirrel looks the same as the one seen on nowpublic.com when publishing an article its there on screen for a few seconds or so. Though I maybe wrong and its a prairie rat, there are loads of those critters in Alberta. Wait a minute I did not see one tree whilst on exercise in Alberta, well there was one until a stupid British squady knocked it down by accident.
Squirels in Alberta, not enough trees however in British Collumbia theres trillions of them.
Hmmmn, this is not a Canadian joke is it, lol
Only kidding there are of course trees up in the rockies and all around Banff, but one can see why Jeannie made her mistake as British Collumbia is known for its tong tailed tree rats.
However the squirell on nowpublic seemingly has the same pose?

I can understand why you saw no trees. You hung out in Suffield. I think there is one tree there as a navigation guide lol.

It's good to see Canada has finally broken free of its stereotyping 3M's meme (Moose, Mountains and Mounties). But did it have to be a squirrel?

I say cut her some slack. At least she knew it was in Canada. Hell, the fact that she knows Canada exists puts her pretty high on my list!

If she really knew BC she would have worked Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, gang warfare and grow-ops into the story.
