Caracas, Venezuela, 26 October 2008. Colombian sources have confirmed that Conservative MP, Oscar Tulio Lizcano, has been liberated today by the Colombian Army and Police forces. His release took place at the Choco Jungle in Noth Eastern Colombia. MP Lizcano had endured an eight year captivity by FARC.
Two years ago, Colombian troops rescued Mr Lizcano's son, who had been kidnapped by another rebel group. A number of high-profile hostages are among some 700 still held by Farc. ...Mr Lizcano, a former Conservative Party MP, 62, was abducted on 5 August 2000, in Caldas province.
Henry Murillo, secretary of government of Caldas province, confirmed the ex-congressman's release. His wife, Martha de Lizcano, called Lizcano's captivity «eight years of great suffering. Colombian authorities did not provide details of the operation to free Lizcano from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia

rahul, I like this story. It's good stuff. His freedom has come after a long time. He should have been released much earlier. He doesn't deserve to be in the captivity for eight long years by leftist rebels.
