An article, published on Colorado Ethics Watch, reports Colorado Secretary of State Mike Coffman, a Republican candidate currently running for Congress, is being sued for the wrongful removal of voters from registration rolls, siting violation of federal laws and the removal of tens of thousands of voters.

Mr Coffman is reported as saying he is confident he has complied with laws regarding voter registration and cancellations.

From the article:

First, the suit says Coffman has removed the names of about 3,000 voters because election notices that were sent to them were returned as undeliverable. That's allowed under Colorado law but the Advancement Project and other groups say that violates federal law.

They also believe that tens of thousands of voters have been wrongly removed within 90 days of Election Day for reasons that aren't clear.

Who put the fox in charge of the hen house?  Unforunately, stories such as these and the one cited below are coming to a head far too late to give those illegally removed the voter rolls any recourse.

At a time when voter registration and participation is at an all-time high, this is a travesty, as well as possibly criminal.

Some voters 'purged' from voter rolls

Karen Hatter, I am not sure about this ethnic watch organisation, its supposed to be non partisan same as I truthly am.

Many Republicans, however, aren't sold on Taylor's new nonpartisan status. They point to her track record this year as evidence that she hasn't left her Democratic political affiliations behind.

"The people she targets are Republicans who are moving up," Secretary of State Mike Coffman said.

Could anyone quote a occasion where this group has targeted any democrates?

"They also believe that tens of thousands of voters have been wrongly removed within 90 days of Election Day for reasons that aren't clear."

That has not been backed by proof and gives no evidence of being true.

"3,000 voters because election notices that were sent to them were returned as undeliverable. That's allowed under Colorado law but the Advancement Project and other groups say that violates federal law."

That statement will hold water once the case has been proved at court, however one is deemed to be innocent untill proven to be guilty. It seems at present Colorado Secretary of State Mike Coffman has obeyed the Colorada law.

A gut feeling tells me that this could a dirty tricks organisation if no democrates have been targeted. It's a logic assessment of a complete outsider from a doubting Thomas Brit of whom has no clue about federal law on this issue, could someone fully enlighten me and point me to the law that states returned non delivered election notices from voters disallow voters from being removed .

I found the law and will spend time in anaylsing it tomorrow as its midnight here in the Philippines.

Looking at other articles else where on the Web its seems that Colorada is not following federal law of which of course should take preference to state law, however I am off to bed hopefully while I am sleeping someone will point to the part that confirms that the Colarado law should be superceeded.
