Communal Iftaar in Assam, India

IND - ASSAM ; SEPT 7: During Ramdan, Muslims fast until sundown every day
and break the fast with communal meal called Iftaar, shared with family and
friends along with the other invited guests of all backgrounds and
faiths. *Silongani
Jagrata Unnayan Samaj*, a social organization of Nagaon district of the
Indian state Assam offered Iftaar at Naromari Kothaltoli Anchalik Masjid
(Mosque) on yesterday in which more than 500 people attended.
It is to mention that, this social
organization which was established in the year 2004, has recently offered
training on weaving art to schedule tribes and Scheduled Caste communities
along with the implementation of distribution of traditional weaving
machines “Tat Shal” for 500 beneficiaries, as told by Jainuddin Ansari, the
president of the organization. The social works of the organization has been
widely appreciated by the local people.
