Hyderabad: Communist stalwart Dharma Bhisham, who was in the forefront of the armed struggle against the tyranny of the Nizam Nawab of Hyderabad is no more. He was 78 and was suffering from respiratory trouble. He fell in the toilet and suffered a fracture. On admission to a hospital, a surgery was performed. He was put on a ventilator when he developed respiratory problem.
Dharma Bhiksham remained a bachelor till his death and dedicated his life to the service of the people. He was elected to the Parliament twice and to the state Assembly thrice. He hook a gun and rose in revolt against the Nizam, even as a student. He has inspired farmers and the rural mass to raise against the autocratic rule through an armed uprising.
