Former Press Secretary Scott McClellan has come out to tell the truth about the lie to go to War, while Secretary of State Condi Rice still maintains Bush was up front about going to War. According to ABC News: "As press secretary," he writes in his new memoir, "I spent countless hours defending the administration from the podium in the White House briefing room. Although the things I said were sincere, I have since come to realize that some of them were badly misguided." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4950594&page=1
Condi Rice goes on to say: "The threat from Saddam Hussein was well understood," Rice said. "You can agree or disagree about the decision to liberate Iraq in 2003, but I would really ask that if you ... believe he was not a threat to the international community, then why in the world were you allowing the Iraqi people to suffer under the terms of oil-for-food."The heart of the McClellan book concerns Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq, a determination McClellan says the president had made by early 2002 — at least a full year before the invasion — if not even earlier.
"He signed off on a strategy for selling the war that was less than candid and honest," McClellan writes in "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception."http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080529/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/rice_mcclellan_book
Now why would a guy like like McClellan bite the hand that feeds him? Could it be the same reasons why Saddam turned on the same hands that led to his demise? McClellan and Bush, it appreared were pals, like one foot was Karl Rove and the other is Scott.
When McClellan left office he said: " I have given it my all"
Appearing with Bush on the South Lawn, McClellan, who has parried especially fiercely with reporters on Iraq and on intelligence issues, told Bush: “I have given it my all sir and I have given you my all sir, and I will continue to do so as we transition to a new press secretary.”
Bush said: McClellan had “a challenging assignment.I thought he handled his assignment with class, and integrity,” the president said. "It’s going to be hard to replace Scott, but nevertheless he made the decision and I accepted it. One of these days, he and I are going to be rocking in chairs in Texas and talking about the good old days.”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12387465/
If that is not good old friends talking then why the sudden change in views? Certainly McClellan Now-Public brings some honesty to this debunked administration, while Condi still defends and fans the flames of lies for Bush.Perhaps Condi and Bush should read The Real Reasons Why We're in Iraq, by: Harley Sorensen http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0913-03.htm
Given Condi's comment :::"If people believe he was not a threat to the international community, then why in the world were you allowing the Iraqi people to suffer under the terms of oil-for-food." Does Condi not consider people really did not support the terms of Oil- for- food program? http://www.heritage.org/Research/InternationalOrganizations/bg1748.cfm That's why ther was the so called UN Oil For Food Fraud Allegations designed to keep Saddam in Power. And so of course she knows this, and is using this line of reasonings to keep the UN silenced about Bush's lies, because they want to prosecute more people in the UN for the Oil for food scandal. And really Condi, the way Oil prices have gone through the roof in 2008 makes Saddams so called embezzlement look like a kid being nabbed for picking up a pencil he found on the floor in some shopping aisle.
McClellan does not seem to think her loyalty to Bush means much, and really he's right because to think the US is going to be successful in discrediting the UN is nonsense. Anyone that has a clear understanding to the history of Iraq knows that most of the trouble in Iraq stems from the failed policies of the US in the Middle East.

Several reasons why Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait:
The funds that Gulf countries lent to Iraq were used to buy high tech weapons, high tech weapons that made Iraq one of the largest armies in the world and a force to contend with. "Ironically much of the money and weapons came from the countries that united to fight against him."1 The Gulf countries bankrolled him while the Western nations, who had many defense contractors going out of business because of the end of the Cold War, supplied him with the weapons to fight Iran and later Kuwait and the Coalition. With a large army like his, it would be very easy to defeat the far smaller Kuwaiti army compared to his.
The US willinging supplied Iraq with weapons to fight a war with Iran. Was it Saddam who turned the the tables on the friendship between Iraq and the US? We can take this to another step too and consider; was it binLadiin who turned the tables on the friendship between him and the US, given that at that time binLadin was part of the Saudi Ruling Emirates.
These things are more than coincidental, and yet a pattern exists. Really it comes down to Israel. The US supplied arms to Saddam to fight Iran, without considering the affect it would have on Israeli security? Sounds like a collossal blunder by the Reagan Bush Administration, and handshaker Donnie Rumsfeld with Saddam Hussein.
The fact that America claims to have US interests in certain regions of the world; they can not fully backup as being interests at all, because they are actually occupations, more than interests. It's not about democracy because they would be pushing democracy down the throats of Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and others. It's about maintaining power.
That power is the Zionist in America that use the American people to support fraudulent wars in the Middle East where Israel is located. Look at Palestinian Authority. They support democracy having elected Hezbollah, but the US rejects the choice of the people to have Hezbollah, instead wanting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Democracy in America really supports Puppet Regime Democracies, a play out of Japan's Warbook in China.
It's rather similar to Pakistan, with the US also backing the dictator Mushareff. Does this make sense that Democracy is actually fighting against itself? Remember the massacre at Tiananmen square? Deng Xiao Ping was a Pro Democracy Leader and yet the people were assailing his efforts of Democracy for their form of Democracy, and is why they rioted at Tiananamen?
McClellan is right to have written his book and take note of the highly visible discrepancies that exists in the free world. There is a certain madness to freedom, that if unchecked it becomes chaos instead....I think this is where GW "G"uns and "W"ar Bush needs to acknowledge his mistakes as well.
