Connor and Jayden McConnell, the two boys who were found dead a house in Millet, Alberta on Monday were in a custody battle between their two parents. The boys were just two-and-a-half years old and ten months old.

According to the father, Curtis McConnell 31, the boys were found in the bathtub in the house, although a neighbour said that she had seen the bodies of the two boys on the floor of the bathroom.

Curtis McConnell married Allyson in January 2007, but they separated in November 2009 and started the custody proceedings. Allyson wanted to take the boys back to Australia and said that Curtis would have "reasonable and generous access" to both the boys.

Curtis McConnell did not want his children to leave Canada.

"I am completely opposed to this, and I am fearful that she will attempt to do this without my consent or knowledge," he stated in an affidavit filed in Edmonton Court of Queen's Bench on Dec. 11.

Curtis had the boy's passports, but on December 21st a judge said that both boys needed to stay in Canada for the time being, but Curtis had to leave the family home.

However, whatever happened on Monday afternoon is still a bit of a mystery.

RCMP is saying that they will not release the names, ages, or descriptions of the individuals found dead in the house, and they did say that a woman tried to kill herself by jumping off a bridge about an hour before the boy's were found dead.

A neighbour said that Allyson was in hospital with broken bones.

My heart goes out to Allyson. What must a mother be feeling if she thinks her boys are better off dead than being left with their father. That's very telling isn't it? The worst thing is that Allyson obviously wanted to die so she and her boys could be together and she is still here in this night mare. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

My thoughts also! I pray for her that she finds peace someplace in this life.

Anyone who thinks they're children are better off dead, then tries to kill themselves to not have to live with the guilt should be locked up in the psych ward for life. I hope she feels like the murderer she is. If the boys had been with they're father they would still be alive. She murdered her children. The only thing that is told is that those boys, who could have lived healthy happy lives, were killed by their mother. The father just didn't want them to go to Australia. She must be deeply disturbed and needs serious help and heavy medication.

I hope the murderer will get a long and painful prison sentence. Anyone who romanticises this brutal act needs to have their diagnosis set by a shrink. Hope the courts learn a lesson from this story. Poor kids and poor father.

Evil deserves no sympathy

Id have to say to you, H.Jackson, you are complete and utter idiot for feeling sympathy for someone who could do that to her children. Who cares what she was going through that is no excuse to feel sorry for a monster that slaughterd her own children. She survived jumping off the bridge so that she will have to live with that everyday of her life as she should. Those boys had no chance to live they didnt even have a choice in the matter.

There's over 30,000 women who are controled an forced to live in foreign countries while the abusive spouse uses the HAGUE CONVENTION to manipulate and enforce their will upon their ex spouces and their children.   This law does not look at the situation as a whole, it looks at it from a very removed standpoint.  How will a mother be able to cope with raising a child or family alone in a foreign country? Where is her support network when she's been so isolated from everyone by her abusive partner?  What if you were told you and your children could never, ever go home? It's so easy to judge someone for such a painfully selfish act but we can only try to imagine how on earth she was feeling.  She was probably suffering from severe depression due to the situation and therefore she felt there was no way out.  Hatred is ignorance, and just for the record, I went through the same situation, I was stuck in a foreign country for 2 years with no support and I most definately did think about killing myself.  Unless someone's been through something like that, then keep your hateful ignorance to yourself.  I luckily did end up winning sole custody but it was nothing short of a miracle and it took everything I had to keep fighting.  Most people are not as strong as I was and I know that being in that situation was EMOTIONAL PRISON thank god we got to go home.

Abusive spouse? The article says nothing about abusive spouses so this claim must either come from your vivid imagination or from the usual sexist hate propaganda conveyed by feminist theory.

Hate stupid people

Are you people out of your minds ??? You feel SYMPATHY for  a "mother" who would do that to her own flesh and blood !! We only have 1 life here she so cruelly and viciously took her own kids lives...she should have just killed herself first and let them live their lives.. What they should do is bring her back to the bridge and let her do it right this time.
