Iris sent me this video she has posted on her site - www.myspace.com/faceoftoxicmold
This story begins at the end, the end of Dan Pauluk's life.
This is a shocking story of a man's death through neglect and inhumane treatment. God bless his family for all they endured. We understand as my husband and I have the same illness, multiple organ damage, skin lesions, aspergillosis, stachybotrytoxicosis, severe mold and trichothecene poisoning. I talk to people of all ages and walks of life daily who are dying a slow horrible death while no one does anything. Like in Dan's case they knew the deadly molds were present. In our case not only were over a dozen toxigenic molds found but highly toxic levels of trichothecene (a deadly poison produced ONLY from mold, used in biowarfare)…Please share Dan's horror story. It may save someone else's life. Only by God's grace are we alive, those liable left us to die even after diagnosis. Please help stop the suffering and educate the public. We relate to the hell Dan Pawlak lived, and finally it took his precious life. Please honor his memory and make his story known. Love, Iris & Tlee We're trying to unite and work with other groups and entities to establish Indoor toxic mold awareness month in every state. We appreciate your support of these efforts to educate the public. I'm very tired, but wanted to share the horrible reality of this man and the toxic mold health issues and such neglect. Like Iris and many others my daughter, grand baby, and myself were exposed to high levels of this "deadly poison produced ONLY by MOLD" and one of them was Aspergillus. One of the molds that caused the needless death of the man in this video. Like this story, water leaks and lack of maintenance or the right kind allowed massive amounts of toxin producing molds to grow for years. Like this story, safety was ignored - the testing we had done before moving said under no circumstances should anyone be allowed to move back in unless certain remediation procedures were done and then tested again. This was not done. Documented evidence and testing shows these conditions were known or (let me add the little legal phrase - should have been known). I know they know. Consious disregard for other peoples safety by the owners of the apartments (Jefferson Lakes) - the management company (Riverstone Residential) and the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency - is the reason we have to deal with this now. Even worse (all has been made public because laws do not seem to matter) - the people living there now, in the past, and those who will still be allowed to move in will be exposed to very large amounts of toxins and they still just do not care. They all have their investment in this place to think about and of course the cost of being held accountable. It is cheaper for them to buy the justice system. We need to worry about how little our rights to not be poisoned count when money talks. Lets hope the supreme court considers this important. Katy

The Health District recently failed in its effort to get the Pauluk's federal lawsuit thrown out of court.
"He was literally eaten alive from the inside out by toxic mold, aspergillus and stachybotrys."
"In paperwork year after year dating back to 1998, the Health District's own studies show the presence of mold in the building and the need for remediation."
"There is no allowable limit," explained Linda May, an EPA and OSHA certified mild expert.
"The regulations state that you will vacate the building, remove all occupants and then relocate them to another building and that no one will go back in that building without a full respirator and a moon suit and it will be cleaned up according to EPA standards," said Linda.
"That did not happen."
